On August 2, 2021, “The 2nd Committee for Japanese Universities’ International Exchange Program with Africa” was held online by participating 46 faculty members and staff of ten universities that implement this program. The opening address was given by Prof. Masayoshi Shigeta, Dean of the Graduate School of Asian and African Area Studies. Representatives of each university presented the current progress and responses to the infection situation of the global Covid-19 pandemic. In the question-and-answer session, the members discussed the actual situation of the exchange program and online education and the prospects of the credit transfer between African Universities and Japanese Universities. At the end of the meeting, an announcement was made to the participants requesting information for the establishment of a database for studying abroad between Africa and Japan to further develop the platform project.
