On December 19th, 2022, a 3rd international conference was held as part of the “Innovative Africa: Educational Networking Programs for Human Resource Development in Africa’s SDGs (IAfP: Innovative Africa Program),” which Kyoto University and the Tokyo University of Foreign Studies have jointly hosted since 2020.
The conference consisted of an oral and a poster session. In the oral session, 10 researchers from six universities in six countries presented their research related to the sustainable development goals (SDGs) in Africa, and in the poster session, eight researchers from seven universities in seven countries made presentations. Each presentation was followed by a Q&A session with faculty members specializing in the respective fields.
The closing ceremony was held in conjunction with the closing ceremony of the short-term exchange program. After Dr. Motoki Takahashi, Director of the Center for the Africa Area Studies, made the closing remarks, he presented awards to the outstanding presenters in each session, and certificates of completion to the students in the exchange program.
